Kurz Um-Mastercrafts Expert tradesmen and women under one roof
Training and work for young unemployed – expert jobs for clients:
can a charitable organisation do both? It can!
Kurz Um-Meisterbetriebe has been actively helping unemployed youngsters in Bielefeld to gain qualifications for the last 20 years. Originally we were known for removal work but over the years several other trades were added. All our branches are run by experienced master craftsmen.
Kurz Um has 60 employees. More than half of these are currently undergoing apprenticeships. The rest are fully qualified and have permanent contracts. Our work is generated by private clients and companies. In this way, our apprentices receive a comprehensive training program in all areas of their chosen trades. The different branches of Kurz Um are full members of all the relevant guilds that regulate training, set standards, monitor workmanship and offer consumer protection.
Kurz Um’s clients have the advantage that they can get several jobs done under one roof. Carpenters, installation and central heating engineers, painters and decoraters, gardeners and furniture removers all work together. We can coordinate these on request. We also work in collaboration with other trades such as builders, electricians and floor and wall tilers.
We pride ourselves on our customer service. Careful advice, individual problems solved and smooth organisation belong to our philosophy as much as good workmanship. Our employees receive training in these areas. When requested, we endevour to find and use ecofriendly paint and varnish, as well as european wood. Our installation and heating engineers will advise on energy conservation and solar panelling. Quotations for jobs are arranged by our Meister/Innen and are always competitive. Our prices follow the guidelines of VOB.
Kurz Um offer free advice and information on energy conservation grants available from the ministry responsible for buildings and the building trade (Wohnungsbauministerium) in North-Rhine Westphalia.
